The Durango contradance series continues. Saturday January 17th, 2026. Deb Comly is the caller, live music provided by the Fractal String Band. Lessons at 7:30, dance starts at 8pm. All ages welcome. Donation sliding scale $10-$20. No partner required.
The Beyond the Concert Hall series continues with “In Tribute: Music for Vibes and Piano” featuring John O’Neal and Jack Maynes. Performances take place at 7PM on Friday, January 16th at St. Mark's Episcopal in Durango and at 2PM on Saturday, January 17th at the Connie Gotsch Theatre in Farmington. Experience innovative jazz inspired by duos Chick Corea and Gary Burton, as well as Makoto Ozone and Burton. These partnerships helped redefine the expressive possibilities of the piano and vibraphone in classical, jazz, and improvised music. Local Fort Lewis College professors John O’Neal and Jack Maynes will draw from these jazz greats in this exciting performance.

The Durango Arts Center presents the exhibit Leonard Davies: The Joys of Painting as a Pastime January 9 - February 28, 2026 in the Barbara Conrad Gallery. Davies retired from a distinguished career as a civil rights attorney, and began oil painting at the age of 70. His show features southwest landscapes, and is free to the public Tuesday - Saturday, Noon - 6 pm. An opening reception will take place from 5-7 pm, Friday, January 9.
